Lake Cargelligo is a town that is famous for
its hospitable people who welcome visitors and its beautiful landscape.
Lake Cargelligo is a historic Australian township, it captures the spirit
of central western Australia and provides a lovely rest stop for
people who are traveling through.
In the late 1800s, gold was discovered in
Lake Cargelligo by Mrs. Charlotte Foster, and the Foster Reef Gold Mining
Company was started. The gold drew in prospectors which grew the town and
the town quickly became an important town in the region as a source of
supplies.
The most popular tourist site in Lake
Cargelligo, apart from the lake itself is the Wooyeo Woolshed. This
attraction is located on Euabalong Road, about seven kilometers away from
the Post Office. While it sits in ruins, it is still a major attraction
and commanding presence in the town.
Currently this little town is bustling with
activity. There are plenty of places to eat, a coffee shop and the town
is home to the first Aboriginal-owned vineyard in Australia, Murrin Bridge
Wines. The town has even has its own historical museum which features
displays about the growth of the area and the areas most important
historical residents.
Lake Cargelligo is a great small town in New
South Wales, Australia. The town is known mainly as a rural farming area
that farms cattle, lamb, wool and large grain farming area.

something that you desire, then the town of Lake Cargelligo is a town you
should look into. The small town is famous for its hospitable people who
take in visitors and new residents as if they were family and life there
is basic and friendly. There is plenty to do, water sports, fishing,
boating, a local swimming pool, a museum, a school, TAFE and a library and
it is considered by many to be the best stop for people passing through
New South Wales.
